First Introduction of the new Indonesian Ambassador in Bangladesh with the Indonesian Society

“The main objectives of my duties in Bangladesh are increasing the economic relation with Bangladesh and protecting the Indonesian citizen in the country”, is what is stressed by H.E. Mrs. Rina P. Soemarno during her first meeting with the Indonesian communities in Bangladesh.

On 8 June 2017, the Indonesian Embassy in Dhaka held a meet and greet event with the new Indonesian Ambassador H.E. Mrs. Rina P. Soemarno. The meeting was carried out in the auditorium of the Indonesian Embassy in Dhaka and attended by elements of the Indonesian communities and friends of Indonesia that consists, among others, of the scholarship awardees from the Government of Indonesia.

The meetings were held in a talk-show format and were combined with an interactive dialogue so those present could directly greet the new Ambassador and introduce themselves. Ambassador Rina P. Soemarno expressed the hope to enjoy the support of the Indonesian communities in Bangladesh and friends of Indonesia in the discharge of her duties in the country.

During the evening, the Ambassador also received a bouquet of flowers and a plaque from the alumni of the scholarship awardees of Indonesia. They are Bangladeshis alumni of Darmasiswa and KNB Scholarship from the Government of Indonesia. Their love for Indonesia is still very strong, although they have long completed their scholarship program in various universities in Indonesia.

The event continued with breaking the fast together, Maghrib prayer, dinner, and ended with Tarawih prayer.
