The new Indonesian Ambassador has arrived in Dhaka

The new Indonesian Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Bangladesh, H.E. Mrs. Rina P. Soemarno, has arrived at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, Dhaka, Bangladesh, at the early hours of 1 June 2017. Her arrival was welcomed by officials of the Embassy and Ambassadors/Representatives of ASEAN countries in Dhaka.

H.E. Mrs. Soemarno was inaugurated as Ambassador to People’s Republic of Bangladesh and Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal by President Joko Widodo on 18 May 2017. She succeeds the previous Ambassador Mr. Iwan Wiranata-atmadja who has returned to Indonesia on 1 February 2017. During the absence of an Ambassador, the leadership of the Indonesian Embassy in Dhaka was held by Chargé d’Affaires Mrs. Inggrid Rosalina.

 

On 4 June 2017, a transfer of leadership ceremony was held from the Chargé d’Affaires to the new Ambassador accredited to People’s Republic of Bangladesh and Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal.

In Dhaka, H.E. Mrs. Rina Soemarno is accompanied by her husband, Mr. Budhi Yuwono.
