Indonesian Ambassador to Bangladesh Rina Prihtyasmiarsi Soemarno said her country and Bangladesh have huge similarities.

She said: “Like Bangladesh, Indonesia is also a Muslim majority country. It has the second largest sea beach, traffic jams and rain. Our forefathers and ancestors were linked to each other.”

The Indonesian envoy came up with the remarks at a press conference at Le Meridian in the capital in the morning.

Rina said Bangladesh is the fastest growing economy of the world and her country can aspire to be like Bangladesh.

The Indonesian embassy arranged the press conference to brief the media on the first-ever Indonesian trade and cultural expo in Dhaka.

The Indonesian trade expo and cultural festival styled INDONESIAFAIR 2018 will be held at the Le Méridien Dhaka on April 26-28.

Around 45 Indonesian exhibitors will showcase diverse consumer and industrial goods made in Indonesia at the fair.
