PT INKA RI Signed a Contract for the Procurement of 50 Train Carriages with Bangladesh Railway

On June 20, 2017, PT INKA from Indonesia signed a contract for the procurement of 50 BG (Broad Gauge) train carriages with Bangladesh Railway. PT INKA is represented by its President Director, Agus H. Purnomo, while Bangladesh Railway is represented by Additional Director General Rolling Stock, Md. Shamsuzzaman. The signing of the contract was witnessed by the Minister of Railways of Bangladesh, Md. Mazibul Hoque, MP.

In his speech, the Minister of Railways of Bangladesh praised the quality of PT INKA train carriages. He also praised the timeliness of PT INKA in the procurement of train carriages so far. The procurement of this 50 train carriages with the stainless steel superstructure will be done within 24 months.

The signing of the contract is the follow up of PT INKA winning the bid to supply 50 BG train carriages on 24 April 2017. PT INKA emerged as the lowest bidder, beating the price offered by Rites Limited from India.

Recently on June 11, 2017, PT INKA again came out as the winning bidder for the procurement of train carriages in Bangladesh. PT INKA won over rivals Rites Limited of India and CRRC Changcun of China in the procurement of 200 units of MG (Meter Gauge) train carriages. The signing of the contract for this 200 units train carriages is planned in July/August 2017.
