Children of the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia participated in Cultural Program in commemoration of the International Mother Language Day 2017, 21 February 2017.4

The program took place at Central Shahid Minar and Shilpakala Academy, Dhaka. Indonesia became one from the other 11 (eleven) Embassies in Dhaka which perform in the cultural performance.

The children played Angklung, one of traditional musical instrument from Indonesia. It is originally played by Sundanese People from West Java, but now has already more popular and played by many Indonesian. There were 2 (two) songs that played, “Tanah Airku” in Shahid Minar and “Ibu Kita Kartini” in Shilpakala Academy. “Tanah Airku” tells about Indonesia as a homeland always loved by its people, although they are far away from the country. “Ibu Kita Kartini” tells about Indonesian Hero, R.A. Kartini which is a pioneer figure for the awakening of the indigenous woman.

The Cultural Program in Shahid Minar also opened by Mr. Liaquat Ali Lucky, Director General, Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy.
